Driven by an inner darkness, a director (Katharina) takes the risk of a financially risky and insecure film project. The story of the film tells of her own life but she does not want to reveal this to anyone. Katharina's everyday relationship is marked by emotional abuse, dependence and loneliness. Only in art she is autonomous and can express her deep feelings. In order to keep control, she tries to keep her other life as far away as possible from her work as a director. But when Katharina's husband suddenly appears on the set, the boundaries between the two worlds start to waver.
